Petition updateDemand change following the death of Missy, after being at Toowoomba animal managementNo changes yet, trial and review ending shortly

I want to thank everyone who has signed, shared and supported mission for missy. It's going on five months now of petitioning and letterbox drops and emails being sent. Council voted unanimously to do a report into animal management and have been doing a 3 month trial into adding the extra afternoon shift to have staff feed, water and move animals; this trial ends soon. While this is a step in the right direction no feedback or correspondence has been given, no public access to collect over weekend and animals are STILL being left in the drop boxes overnight. We won't stop the pressure until policy and procedures change allowing for pickup outside their short business hours.

Recently and 18yr old blind and deaf pup with health issues was held over the weekend, despite the owners asking for a early release due to health and age. This was denied by the call centre who operate from a script outside of business hours.

Missy should never have suffered the way she did and without changes to how these matters are handled more trauma will occur.

Her owner was sent a registration renewal recently ....despite council and animal management being made aware of her passing! Adding to her families grief and trauma. Completely unacceptable and heartless, her story is well known her owner notified animal management the day after her passing; this should never have been sent.

I appreciate everybody who has signed and shared. With almost 2500 signatures now, council can't ignore this long standing issue.

Thankyou again

Sarah
