Demand Ceasefire in Gaza, Humanitarian Aid, and Reallocate Tax Money for Domestic Needs

The Issue

Millions of Palestinians are trapped in. As Israeli troops approach, there’s nowhere left to run. This situation is deeply personal to me and I believe it should be a concern for all of us in New Mexico.

Our demands are very reasonable:

1) A ceasefire in Gaza - The ongoing conflict has resulted in the loss of countless innocent lives.Amnesty International's research provides clear evidence of the gruesome toll of Israel's relentless and unlawful attacks in Gaza. Four months since Israel's offensive began, more than 28,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 60,000 injured amid an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

2) Humanitarian aid to Gaza -Half a million people in Gaza face starvation and all 2.3 million experience acute food shortage, aid agencies report. Famine is stalking Gaza as aid agencies struggle to deliver food to the north of the enclave, the head of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has warned

3) No more tax money for destruction when our citizens have difficulty buying food, gas and medicine - It's time we prioritize our domestic needs. According to Feeding America, New Mexico has one of the highest rates of hunger in America with 1 in 6 individuals struggling with food insecurity.

The situation is dire on both sides – Palestinians trapped with nowhere left to run; our fellow citizens struggling daily necessities at home. We must act now! Sign this petition today if you believe that peace is possible and necessary; if you believe that our tax dollars should be used wisely on domestic needs rather than funding destruction abroad.
