I was recently diagnosed with Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES) 11 days ago and went through over 60 seizure episodes in just 6 days. The first hospital treated me like I was faking it, and as a healthcare worker myself (RN), I had never heard of this disorder before. We need to demand the same respect as epilepsy. Our seizures are REAL, and there is no clear treatment—only recommendations.

PNES affects thousands of people worldwide, yet it remains largely misunderstood within the medical community. Many patients face stigma and misdiagnosis, leading to inadequate care and support. It's time for more research to be conducted on PNES so that effective treatments can be developed, and healthcare workers can be properly educated about this condition.

No one should feel alone or stigmatized on their journey with PNES. Let's change the world by spreading awareness and demanding action from our healthcare system.
