Today, our collective voice must rise for a helpless dog under the abusive hold of Matthew Richardson in Canyonville, a homeless man with a grim reputation. The police dishearteningly seems nonchalant, and our community bear witness to his abuse. We know his history — the dog, the latest in a string of canine victims, is forced to endure inhumane treatment, captured in photographs and videos, direct evidence of this man's cruelty. One brave woman even managed to save the dog temporarily, but was promptly arrested, and the dog returned to its abusive owner.
