On the night of May 13, 2021 Deputy Willie Barkley of the Monroe County Sheriff's Dept (Forsyth, Georgia) left his k9 partner overnight, resulting in the dog's death.  After leaving the dog in the car while he filled out paperwork, Barkley then went home to sleep and left Khan in the car. When he woke up the next morning, he noticed he left Khan in the car and found him dead.  As a result of Deputy Barkley's negligence this poor dog was made to suffer an agonizing death.  Barkley was demoted, but has charged with for his actions.  This is unacceptable.  There are multiple examples of citizens being charged with animal cruelty for leaving their dogs inside of a hot car.  Barkley is not above the law.  Please, join me to demand that Deputy Barkley be charged with animal cruelty.  No dog deserves to endure such a painful death, and Barkley shouldn't get a free pass simply because he's a law enforcement officer.  Khan was a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois that was with the Sheriff's Office since July of 2018.
