Demand an Outside Investigation into Missouri GOP Ethics Complaints

The Issue

My heart is heavy knowing that justice has been stalled in Missouri due to political maneuvering. As a concerned resident, I've witnessed first-hand the impact of political leaders evading accountability. Mrs. Kathie Conway, was battling brain cancer, she was too ill to attend any ethics board meetings. That would have addressed multiple ethics complaints against Missouri's leading GOP figures—Senator Eric Schmitt, Senator Josh Hawley, and Attorney General Andrew Bailey, escaped accountability due to a mere loophole. Governor Michael Parson, in an act that seemed indifferent to the core tenets of justice, refused to appoint a new ethics board member. Yet according to bylaws, these complaints could not be addressed without a full quorum.

The ethics violations in question are grievous in nature, severe enough that these Missouri Republican leaders might have faced removal from their positions, both on the ballot and in office. It's unacceptable that political influences can so easily override ethical accountability. These concerning allegations demand an unprejudiced and thorough examination, free from the confines of political affiliation.

An independent, outside investigation is imperative to restore trust in our political systems. Missouri’s residents deserve transparency and fairness. Every single action by elected officials should be rooted in responsibility to the public, yet here we stand without a resolution.

Missouri's integrity is not a partisan issue. It transcends political lines and calls for the collective voice of every concerned citizen. Only through transparency and recourse can we rebuild our faith in those we elect to lead us.

It's time we demand an independent inquiry to ensure that ethical complaints, no matter how politically charged, are rigorously evaluated and addressed in the pursuit of justice. Join me in calling for an outside investigation into these ethics complaints to protect our democracy. Sign this petition and stand with me in the fight for accountability.
