Demand an investigation into Unified Sportsmen of Pennsylvania
The Issue
Hundreds of thousands of hardworking Pennsylvania hunters have been deceived by groups claiming to have their best interests at heart. Unified Sportsmen of Pennsylvania and their spinoff group, Pennsylvania Hunters Against the Saturday Deer Opener, have betrayed the trust of those they pledged to support. These organizations have allegedly engaged in unregistered political lobbying, violated Small Games of Chance regulations, and defrauded the public by collecting funds for a Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Testing Kit that was never developed.
The fear of Chronic Wasting Disease ravaging our wildlife is real and justified. Yet, these groups exploited this fear, raising public and private funds with no tangible results to show for it. The funds, which were supposed to go toward developing a solution to this grave issue, remain unaccounted for, with reports suggesting they were used for personal expenses instead. It is appalling to think that while hunters work tirelessly to support wildlife management and preservation, these organizations could undermine those efforts for their own gain.
We, concerned citizens and members of the hunting community, call upon the Pennsylvania Attorney General to take immediate action. An investigation must be launched into Unified Sportsmen of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Hunters Against the Saturday Deer Opener to uncover the extent of their deceit and hold them accountable for their actions. This investigation is crucial not just for justice but to restore the faith of Pennsylvania hunters in organizations that claim to represent them.
Urge the Attorney General to prioritize this issue, ensuring that the transparency and integrity of our hunting and conservation efforts are maintained. Sign this petition to demand accountability and ensure that such betrayals of trust do not go unpunished. Together, we can protect the interests of hunters and preserve Pennsylvania's wildlife for future generations.
