The issue

We’ve launched a petition calling for an independent review into the handling of Jack McLennan’s disappearance.

Jack went missing on 4 October 2024 in the South Burnett. Since then, serious concerns have been raised about how the investigation was carried out — key evidence, leads, and witness accounts were overlooked. The Crime and Corruption Commission referred the matter back to police to review themselves, which goes against the purpose of independent oversight.

We’re asking for the matter to be reviewed outside of QPS to ensure transparency, accountability, and a fair investigation.

We respectfully request that the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Commissioner, Dr Daniel Morgan:

  • Reviews the CCC’s decision to refer Jack’s case back to QPS.
  • Directs the CCC to reassume or conduct an independent investigation.
  • Recommends a parliamentary inquiry if systemic or cultural failures are found.

This is about more than Jack — it’s about every missing person, their families and every Queenslander’s right to transparency and justice.

Accountability builds trust. Stand with Jack’s family and community to demand truth and fairness.

Together, we make it impossible to ignore.

If you stand with us, please sign and share.

Every signature matters.

Justice for Jack.
