A significant new development: Ghent University has suspended Nathan Cofnas, the academic who publicly advanced plagiarism allegations against Jason Arday, while it investigates alleged discriminatory conduct. The university says the suspension is precautionary and is not a finding of wrongdoing.

This reinforces why the entire process surrounding Jason should be independently examined — the allegations, their amplification, media conduct, institutional responses and safeguards.
