This petition is to demand an immediate pledge from the Central Bucks School District to overhaul and institute a curriculum dedicated to anti-racist education, and the release of a plan about how exactly the district intends to educate students about racism, and uplift and promote the work of diverse scholars, historians, and activists.

I am extremely grateful for the education that the Central Bucks School district has offered me. However, it has failed to teach me and the rest of my community about racism, intersectionality, and privilege in the United States; and particularly about how our community has benefited from or perpetuated these systems.

Central Bucks School District has a long history of being a leader in K-12 education and has an obligation to modify their current curriculum to meet the standards they set for public school education.

Please sign this petition am calling for the implementation of programs that promote race-awareness learning and anti-racism in our school district, including:

1. Adding diversity compassion and anti-racism to the core curriculum of our district as a required course or equivalent.

2. The inclusion of diverse authors in at least 35% of syllabi in humanities classes such as history, literature, government and the social sciences.

3. Increased diversity of teaching staff, administration, and disciplinary figures

4. Required diversity and implicit bias trainings each semester for all members of the teaching staff, administration, and disciplinary figures.

5. Holding students who say or do discriminatory or offensive things accountable for their actions, and transparency about hate speech policies and consequences.
