Demand an immediate employment review of Dwayne J. Princess
The Issue
Demand an Immediate Employment Review of Dwayne J. Princess by the Town of Amherst
To the Town of Amherst and the officials responsible for Town employment and personnel matters:
We, the undersigned, call upon the Town of Amherst to immediately conduct a formal review of the continued employment of Dwayne J. Princess, and to take all disciplinary action warranted by the verified evidence, up to and including termination.
This request is based on serious matters documented in court proceedings and other official records—not merely social-media accusations.
An Erie County Family Court Family Offense Petition filed in 2026 identifies Dwayne Princess as the respondent and contains allegations of assault, strangulation and harassment involving his wife.
According to that court filing, the petitioner alleged that during a September 18, 2026 incident she was punched and strangled, lost consciousness, experienced blurred vision and uncontrollable vomiting, and suffered a concussion and ruptured left eardrum. The filing states that Amherst Police responded, completed a Domestic Incident Report, and that she was transported by ambulance for emergency medical treatment.
The petition further describes other alleged incidents resulting in injuries including a broken nose, black eye and broken toes, along with allegations of threats and other physical abuse.
These statements are allegations contained in a Family Court filing. We do not represent allegations that have not been adjudicated as judicial findings or criminal convictions.
There are also reported prior criminal proceedings involving Mr. Princess. We ask the Town—not the public—to obtain the official criminal records and determine precisely what charges, convictions and dispositions exist.
What we are asking the Town to do
We request that the Town immediately:
Conduct a formal administrative and employment review concerning Dwayne J. Princess.
Obtain and examine all legally available criminal-court records, Family Court records, police records and other relevant official documentation.
Determine whether prior criminal or disciplinary matters were disclosed as required during his hiring or continued employment.
Determine whether documented conduct violates Town employment policies, applicable civil-service requirements, collective-bargaining provisions or standards governing Town employees.
Provide survivors who voluntarily come forward an appropriate mechanism for submitting relevant documentation and firsthand information.
Take every disciplinary action supported by the verified evidence and permitted by law, including termination if lawful grounds for termination are established.
Provide the public with as much information concerning the Town’s review and resulting action as New York law permits.
This petition is not asking the public to determine guilt.
We are asking the Town of Amherst to examine the records, establish the facts, apply its employment standards and take appropriate action.
Public employment requires public accountability.
We, the undersigned, request immediate action
