My husband and I are residents of Brunswick, Maine, and are deeply disturbed by the ongoing violence in Gaza. We are heartbroken that more than 30,000 Palestinian civilians have been killed by the Israeli armed forces. This genocide must stop now.

We are calling on the Brunswick town councilors to adopt a resolution that the U.S. federal government must demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

We are horrified that the Hamas attacks of Oct. 7th resulted in the tragic killing and abduction of innocent Israelis. This tragedy will not be lessened, however, by retaliating against innocent Palestinians. We demand that the U.S. government stop using our tax dollars to fund this genocide, which has resulted in countless civilian lives lost.
