Dear Mayor,

I write to you today to inform you of a gross injustice that has occurred in the heart of our community in Stepney, Tower Hamlets. 

The Deputy Headteacher of Cayley Primary School who has dedicated over two decades of his life to nurturing the minds of future generations, has been unjustly removed from his position. He is a pillar of the community, a highly respected individual, who has positively impacted the lives of children, parents and staff, past and present. 

His absence has been noticed since October 2024 - just 5 weeks after the start of a new Head teacher - and neither staff nor parents have been informed as to what has happened. 

Since the Deputy Head teacher’s absence the school has descended into chaos.  A once happy and vibrant community now in a state of shock and uproar. 

I demand that the Head teacher, school governing body and local authority are all held to account and an explanation given. If there is nothing to hide then why have we been kept in the dark?
