The Issue

In times of distress and urgency, every moment counts, especially when it comes to our beloved pets. Our community is witnessing a growing concern over the lack of adequate emergency veterinary services, a gap that has profound consequences on the health and safety of our pets. This petition seeks to change that by advocating for the establishment of a new emergency veterinary clinic in our area.

Recently, my family experienced a shocking situation with our dog, Lucy. She suffered a sudden medical emergency, prompting us to rush her to the only available emergency veterinary clinic serving our region. What transpired was heartbreaking: before any diagnostic tests were conducted, euthanasia was presented to us as a primary option. Hearing such drastic measures suggested, without investigating possible treatments, was nothing short of devastating for any loving pet owner.

Sadly, our story is not unique. Many pet owners in our community are encountering long wait times, inadequate diagnostic protocols, and limited support when they face emergency situations with their pets. The current clinic is operating beyond its capacity, which endangers the lives of our pets who rely on swift and appropriate medical attention.

Did you know that over 70% of households in our community own pets? This means that approximately thousands of pets are at risk every day due to the overwhelming pressure placed on the single clinic serving our area. This is simply unacceptable.

To tackle this issue head-on, we propose the following actionable steps:
1. Collaborating with existing veterinary professionals and local authorities to secure funding and a suitable location for a new clinic.
2. Urgently petitioning for the allocation of government resources dedicated to establishing and staffing a new emergency facility.
3. Engaging with private stakeholders and animal welfare organizations to lend support and resources for this vital community service.

This is more than just an appeal; it is a necessity. Our pets are integral members of our families, and they deserve the same high standard of healthcare services as any other family member. Enacting these changes will ensure that no pet—and no pet owner—has to go through the unbearable trauma of not receiving the care they urgently need.

Please join us in advocating for a new emergency veterinary clinic in our community. Sign this petition to help protect our pets and ensure their right to timely and quality emergency medical care.
