According to first hand accounts from those close to the scene, Salis suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He leaves behind a young wife and child who must now face life without him. Instead of focusing on the tragedy of a young life cut short, much of the media and online commentary has chosen to harass the family, spread unsourced rumors, and outright defame Salis’s character and community, his ethnicity and cultural differences. We refuse to let this cowardly vitriol continue. Salis was a young man with a family who loved him, not a caricature for headlines.
