While young Salis Hanrahan’s family mourns the loss of their beloved son, husband, and father an ocean away in the UK, the man charged in his killing, 75 year old George Barr, remains at home. Salis, just 20 years old, was on holiday in the USA visiting and working alongside his American family’s construction crew when he was shot and killed on July 8, 2026, at a home in Philadelphia’s Roxborough neighborhood. According to first hand accounts from those close to the scene, Salis suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He leaves behind a young wife and child who must now face life without him. Instead of focusing on the tragedy of a young life cut short, much of the media and online commentary has chosen to harass the family, spread unsourced rumors, and outright defame Salis’s character and community, his ethnicity and cultural differences. We refuse to let this cowardly vitriol continue. Salis was a young man with a family who loved him, not a caricature for headlines. We demand full accountability and a fair investigation into the circumstances of his death. Justice must be served for the slaying of Salis Hanrahan. No one should lose their life over a disputed contractor bill or heated words, especially not a father in the prime of his life. To everyone who has signed, shared, and stood with us: thank you. Keep spreading the petition, counter the misinformation with facts and compassion, and help us ensure Salis’s family receives the truth and justice they deserve. His voice and his memory will not be silenced. Sign and share if you believe in fairness for all families, regardless of background, ethnicity, creed or any other minor differences between man.
