Petition Update – July 30, 2026 Court Update: On July 29, 2026, Judge David H. Conroy held all charges against George Barr for court. This includes: • Third-Degree Murder (a first-degree felony) • Possession of an Instrument of Crime • Recklessly Endangering Another Person This means the judge found sufficient evidence for the case to move forward to the Court of Common Pleas. The murder charge still stands. The other charges still stand. Despite what some groups and individuals are claiming, this case has not been dismissed or weakened. Barr is facing murder charges and other serious charges in the slaying of an unarmed young man. As required by law, Barr was later granted bail ($20,000 bail) and is currently out of custody. His next court appearance is the formal arraignment on August 19, 2026. The case is being prosecuted by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. On the ongoing harassment: The family of Salis Hanrahan continues to face harassment, much of it coming from people in the United States. Character attacks, ethnic slurs, and attempts to justify the killing of an unarmed 20-year-old remain widespread. Some are still circulating a juvenile summons from the UK and treating it as justification for his death. If any American feels entitled to the private juvenile records of a minor child from another country in order to defend the shooting of an unarmed man, they are free to contact Buckingham Palace at 020 7930 4832 and request them from the King of England themselves. Salis was a young man with no conviction. He was unarmed. His ethnicity does not make his killing acceptable. We will not accept bigotry as a substitute for evidence. We will not accept collective punishment of Gypsy, Traveller, and Romani people — or any other minority group — as normal. Discrimination based on the circumstances of a person’s birth has no place in the American justice system. This is no longer only about one family or one community. When bias is allowed to shape the narrative around an unarmed victim, it endangers equal justice for everyone. We will get unbiased Justice for this young man. And we will continue to demand the same for all, regardless of threats and intimidation, regardless of the victims color, creed, ethnicity, or any other “descriptors” that white supremacy groups or individuals would use to justify the death and harm of victims. To justify the harassment of innocent grieving families. Sign. Share. Report harassment and hate speech.
Demand unbiased justice for Salis Hanrahan.
Demand that the charges be tried on the evidence, not on prejudice. #JusticeForSalis
