Developer using a COVID stimulus initiative to sneak through and fast track a 15 storey 480 dwelling development in Preston - the corner of St Georges Rd, Oakover Rd, and Showers St. 

We demand adequate community consultation! covering a 800m radius and need your help to ensure the state government listens.

Community current concerns with the development: 

• Inadequate consultation - Most residents in the area (as close as 150m away) were NOT informed of the limited consultation and therefore didn't get the opportunity to respond. 
• Extreme bulk and size - more than double the height! 15 storey building proposed in a 12 storey maximum height limit- DPO11 sub precinct 3
• Traffic - its already out of control, add another 300 cars cutting through our back streets
• only 60% of required car parking - pushing residents into nearby streets with limited street parking, inadequate supermarket and retail spaces and NO visitor parking provided.  
• Cyclists forgotten - No provision for cyclists travelling West to East - linking the new railway track with St Georges Road or Great Western Shimmy- think Preston High students!
• No EV stations - electric vehicles are the future right? 
• Rezoning single storey homes with no justification - 47-49 Showers Street rezoning from residential to multi use without any justification
• Poor Design - Inconsistent with the development plan overlay and not using the requirements outlined - a series of non-articulated blocks that create a street wall along St Georges, Showers Street and Oakover Roads.
