Irvine Company Apartments: Vehicle damage and theft

Irvine Company Apartments: Vehicle damage and theft
The Issue
I moved to Irvine from LA in early 2019 to seek a safer, cleaner, and more enjoyable living environment. For the first month I lived here, I thought I had accomplished that mission. Come to find out, as most others do, I was entirely wrong. My motorcycle was stolen right out from under me while I slept peacefully In my $3300 a month apartment.
Now, I’m a man of possibility and not problems. I touched base with the leasing office on three different occasions to inquire about any preventative steps that could be put into action to make sure this didn’t happen to anyone else. The response? Excuses.
I handled the encounter with respect, grace, and understanding. I continue to do so even after finding out that I am not the first victim of these intolerable acts of thievery and vehicle damage. Fast forward a year, and I find myself with a new bike in a different Irvine Company Complex, only to have my brand new Harley Vandalized and damaged in the garage. It’s time to stop playing nice. Reviews on three different internet sites have led me to understand that car/motorcycle theft and damage has happened hundreds, if not thousands of times in this Irvine Company Complex, with a few apologies written to its residents and justifications of liability passed out left and right. This has been going on for far to long, and I refuse to be another fool who accepts the inadmissible for reality. Apologies only go so far.
It’s time for Irvine Company starts realigning their priorities. Aesthetics and amenities mean nothing if the safety of their residents and their assets can’t be given even a slight bit of attention and consideration. By signing this, you’re demanding Irvine Company takes action by:
1.) Installing working security cameras in all properties garages.
2.) Installing SECURE gate systems at all garage entrances.
3.) Hiring a more robust nightly security team that can sufficiently cover each level of all garages.
With a company whos reputation precedes them in success, financially and otherwise, there is a way to make this right. Your lack of care for your guests and their property is not okay. This isn’t another sub par yelp review. This matters. I do not believe change occurs when irrational, emotional responses are sparked and thrown all over the internet. So, here’s a petition. Our chance to make living here desirable, and safe.
