The Issue

As a concerned parent of young daughters, I've been in constant fear with the realization of the shocking activities by our entrusted officer of the law, Mark Dupree, the Wyandotte County District Attorney in Kansas. His office has been found giving out unacceptably lower plea deals to criminals when promising much higher sentences to the families of victims. This not only vastly undermines trust in our legal system, but it utterly destroys the faith families have of receiving justice.

More shocking, however, is the revelation that Mark Dupree allegedly aided his nephews, Billy Ivan Dupree and Glen Blount Jr., escape prosecution for a murder case in 2014, a crime that involved a 16-year-old innocent life. These claims have generated great fear and disillusionment within our community, leading to questions about the integrity of our criminal justice system.

I am standing up not just for myself, but for all those in our community who have the courage to step forward and demand justice. Tipsters, witnesses, and those who 'say something when they see something', should feel protected and empowered by their justice system, not intimidated and fearful of retribution. We expect our justice system to protect us, not those who commit heinous crimes.

Our plea is for a thorough investigation into these alarming allegations, for honesty in sentencing, and for the enforcement of higher ethical standards within the District Attorney's office. Mark Dupree must be held accountable for his actions. Stand with us in demanding justice, transparency, and accountability from our public officers. Since he's not willing to do so, we must remove him so someone else may do the job. Sign this petition now.
