Demand Accountability from Woda Cooper Companies for Substandard Housing Conditions

The Issue

I am a tenant of a property managed by Woda Cooper Companies, a real estate firm that receives millions in government funding to build affordable housing. However, the reality is far from what is promised. The properties are poorly maintained and become uninhabitable shortly after construction. Tenants are expected to cover costs such as air filters, smoke detector batteries, and window treatments during their lease period.

Despite being designated as non-smoking buildings, they are heavily saturated with smoke. Pest control is a significant issue; many units have bed bugs and roaches despite being only 2-4 years old. Corporate management seems more interested in cutting costs than exterminating these pests.

Furthermore, our rights as tenants are frequently violated with the company entering our units without providing the legally required 24-hour notice for non-emergency reasons. Homeless individuals often find shelter in storage laundry areas and lobbies due to lack of security measures.

This situation isn't just about my personal experience; it's about all tenants living under these conditions who deserve better from Woda Cooper Companies – especially considering the substantial government funding they receive for building 'quality' affordable housing. The security cameras frequently malfunction, undermining the building's advertised security. The removal of the trash valet amenity and the suspension of the party house feature diminish the promised conveniences.

The poorly lit parking lot poses safety concerns, warranting additional lighting. The sanitation efforts in the building fall short, demanding a more effective approach. Moreover, maintenance and repairs should be conducted more frequently to uphold the overall integrity of the property.

We demand accountability from Woda Cooper Companies – we need improved maintenance standards, effective pest control measures, respect for tenant rights regarding property entry notifications and an overall improvement in living conditions within their properties.

Please sign this petition if you believe that every individual deserves decent living conditions regardless of their economic status. Your support can make a difference!
