Demand Accountability from Scottish SPCA and Clyde Veterinary Group for Neglect of Horses

The Issue

I am starting this petition following a harrowing revelation I encountered on Facebook Live, involving the cruel and heartrending state of 14 horses in Dennyloanhead near Falkirk. Their caretaker,in conjunction with the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA)  members of  World Horse Welfare also attending  (including John Burns head of the NEWC Scotland) and the Clyde Veterinary Group, allowed these innocent animals to plummet into a state of severe malnutrition so horrific that some had to be euthanised. The images that crossed my eye on social media will be forever ingrained in my memory. The SSPCA, a charitable organisation, owes the public a statement and an investigation into their complete lack of intervention in this case. The SSPCA had the powers to remove these poor horses well before they got into such a horrific state and they have failed these animals under the Animal Welfate act 2006. The SSPCA should be investigated for the failure to act as should the World Horse Welfare .

What is even more disconcerting is the fact that is has been Said that there  will  not be a  prosecution  as publicy acknowledged by John Burns head of the National Equine welfare Council for Scotland.

Now the strategic purpose of organizations such as the SSPCA and Clyde Veterinary Group , World Horse Welfare and the NEWC scotland is to prevent these exact situations. Not only have they failed these animals, but they have failed in their duty of care to the larger community. Furthermore, questions arise regarding their operational transparency, particularly with their usage of vehicles for the removal of abused animals, allegedly without an appropriate operator's license. Their lack of action meant one Horse had to be put to sleep at the scene as it was to weak to travel.

Our petition seeks to not only bring their actions or lack thereof to light but to ensure such irresponsible behaviors do not occur in the future. We are asking for transparency, accountability, and, above all, for justice to be served on behalf of these helpless, suffering animals. Their pain must not go unanswered. The charities involved should also be investigated to see where the donations from the public are actually going. It certainly isn't on rescuing truely neglected animals.

The countdown for change starts now. Sign this petition today and let us stand together as a community demanding justice for these animals. Together, we can ensure such negligence and disregard for life is not repeated in the future. Give your voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.
