As the family of a classroom worker and parent of students in the Round Lake, IL School District 116, I've witnessed firsthand the detrimental impact of budgetary mismanagement. Recent errors in budgeting have not only imposed unnecessary burdens on our dedicated staff but have also detrimentally affected the quality of education our children receive.

It is disheartening that repeated fiscal mistakes have gone unaddressed by those at the top. Teachers are being asked to shoulder responsibilities that stem from the inability of our leadership to manage funds effectively. This shifts the focus of educators from providing quality teaching to finding ways to compensate for these financial shortcomings, which is unacceptable.

Education in our community should be a priority, with every decision made in the best interest of our children and their future. Unfortunately, the current school board and superintendent have failed to uphold these principles. The repeated financial errors highlight a lack of accountability and leadership, further eroding the trust within our community.

We need leadership that is not only competent but also transparent and responsible. That is why I am calling for the immediate resignation of the superintendent and the current school board. We seek new leaders who are capable of managing our school district's resources wisely and who prioritize student and teacher wellbeing.
