Demand accountability from CGDA for pensioner data errors
The Issue
As a defense pensioner, I find myself caught in a frustrating and seemingly endless loop of bureaucratic negligence concerning my pension records. My personal experience highlights a glaring issue that affects many other defense pensioners: data corruption during the transfer from old PPOs to new PPOs. As a result, critical personal information, such as my regiment and even the date of birth of my son, has been erroneously altered. This is deeply troubling, considering all necessary data exists within the records maintained by the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA).
The implementation of the SPARSH portal was intended to streamline processes and improve convenience for defense pensioners. However, it seems that instead of simplifying matters, it has only added to the burden. Many of us are required to undergo numerous rounds of data verification and upload information that should already be available within the CGDA’s existing systems. This not only undermines the efficiency of the system but unfairly shifts the responsibility onto pensioners who have already served their nation.
Data issues like these are not isolated incidents. They represent a systemic problem affecting countless individuals who depend on accurate pension records for their well-being. It is unacceptable that pensioners are facing undue stress and potential financial insecurity due to errors that could and should be rectified by the employees responsible for managing these records.
It is crucial that we hold the CGDA accountable for these mistakes. Real action is needed to investigate and rectify data errors swiftly and efficiently. This isn’t just about one person; it's about ensuring fairness and dignity for all pensioners who have dedicated their lives to the service of our nation. Proper accountability measures must be put in place to prevent such errors from reoccurring, and comprehensive support should be made available to those who have been affected.
Let's urge the CGDA to take immediate action to resolve these discrepancies and improve the SPARSH system so it works as intended—without additional burden on the pensioners. By signing this petition, we are calling on the CGDA to ensure proper monitoring and accountability processes are implemented swiftly. We demand diligence, transparency, and respect towards the individuals whose pensions are paramount to their post-service lives. Sign now to join our call for a more accountable and efficient system.
