Demand Accountability from ASPCA for Animal Neglect

The Issue

My beloved cat, Clyde, was a victim of neglect under the care of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). His untimely passing is a heartbreaking reminder that even institutions trusted with animal welfare can fail their charges.

The ASPCA, based in New York City, has been entrusted with protecting and caring for animals since 1866. However, instances like Clyde's show that there are serious gaps in their system. It is unacceptable that an organization dedicated to preventing cruelty towards animals could allow such negligence to occur.

According to data from the Humane Society of the United States, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S animal shelters nationwide every year. Of these, about 1.5 million are euthanized due to lack of space or resources - not because they are beyond help (Humane Society). In a city as large as New York City with its vast resources and wealth, it's disheartening that organizations like ASPCA cannot provide adequate care for these innocent creatures.

We must hold them accountable and demand better treatment for our pets who depend on us entirely for their wellbeing. We call upon local authorities in New York City to investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure such incidents do not repeat themselves.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for Clyde and all other animals who have suffered due to negligence at the hands of those supposed to protect them.
