Hello, dear friends!
Thank you for your bravery and humanity in signing and sharing this petition—and for speaking out in other ways as well. We are privileged to have a voice during this critical time.
Right now, I find myself asking politicians not just, “What will you do to help the people in Gaza?” but rather, “What ARE you doing?”
Yesterday was particularly difficult for me. I spent most of the day messaging students trapped in various parts of Gaza, especially those in Beit Hanoun, who are in dire straits. I cried throughout the day, channeling that sadness into letters to senators, representatives, and newspaper editors. The situation is heartbreaking, and as a friend put it, the mask is off: we can no longer deny that what Netanyahu is doing amounts to mass extinction.
Let’s keep the pressure on and raise our voices louder. I fear for our students and friends in Gaza, but we must persist. While we may not be able to save them, we can stay true to our values and uphold our dignity and self-worth by acting in accordance with those principles.
Thank you so much for your commitment! The world needs more people like you. Let’s continue sharing this petition and invite others to join us in this quest to heal humanity.
Warm regards, and lots of love,
Anna
PS That photo is a screenshot of a video a friend sent yesterday showing the complete mayhem when food trucks arrive. Gangs stop the trucks and take the food, selling it at exorbitant prices... causing famine. So the trucks speed as fast as they can through groups of people. People are often killed by the speeding trucks and sometimes by the heavy boxes filled with canned goods that are thrown from the trucks. If you would like to see the videos, let me know.
