Conflict of Interest? Judge Kutscher and the County Commissioner Court

Guadalupe County citizens need to watch this criminal investigation into Judge Kutscher and the civil lawsuit against the commissioners with absolute vigilance. If this inquiry wraps up with zero charges, it will be clear evidence of local officials insulating their own.To anyone shocked by these "conflict of interest" allegations regarding multi-million dollar data centers and family land deals, I can tell you from personal experience: this is standard operating procedure for the Guadalupe County judiciary.In my own criminal case (23-1166-CR-A) in the 2nd 25th District Court, I was wrongfully incarcerated for 16 months due to malicious prosecution. During that time, District Judge Jessica Crawford’s court appointed Guadalupe County Magistrate Judge Sunny Middleton—conflict of interest—to represent me as my defense attorney. Meanwhile, District Judge William Old did his part to ensure a conviction by setting an excessive $150,000 bond on a false charge—a direct violation of the Eighth Amendment.When my trial finally came in July 2025, the state's star witness, Seguin Police Sgt. Bruno Cavazos, defied a state subpoena and failed to show up to testify. When Judge Crawford asked where he was, the prosecutor openly admitted in court that Sgt. Cavazos was in Orlando, Florida at Disney World. Violating a subpoena is a crime, yet he was never arrested, fined, or disciplined. I was ultimately acquitted by a directed verdict, but not before 16 months of my life were stolen.A preacher I'm fond of in San Antonio says: “A bath and a pink ribbon won’t change a pig into a poodle.” Similarly, a black robe, a gavel, and a seat on a bench do not guarantee honor, integrity, or even good sense."Conflict of interest" and backroom dealings should be the official motto and mantra of the Guadalupe County justice system. Pay close attention, citizens. Both of these actions evince severe local corruption.
