Seguin PD fails

Documented cases of misconduct, internal investigations, or criminal charges involving the Seguin Police Department include:

• Michael Godinez (Fired June 18, 2026): Fired after a formal excessive-force complaint was filed internally by a department lieutenant. Body camera video from a May 20, 2026, arrest appeared to show Godinez striking a passively resisting suspect in the back of the head. Chief Jason Brady sustained three policy violations, ruling that Godinez used unreasonable force, an unauthorized technique, and escalated the situation too quickly. Godinezhad previously drawn heavy public criticism for a September 2025 incident where he slammed a 16-year-old bicyclist face-first onto the ground. [1, 2, 3]
• Jose Ricardo Zapata (Arrested November 2023): Arrested while off-duty by the New Braunfels Police Department. He was charged with an elevated offense of Driving While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol level greater than 0.15%. He was immediately placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. [1]
• Eric Jimenez (Arrested October 2016): A seven-year veteran patrol lieutenant who turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued charging him with Assault-Family Violence following an off-duty incident. He was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
• Two Unnamed Officers (Under Investigation June 2009): The Texas Rangers launched two separate investigations into Seguin police personnel. One officer was placed on paid leave and forbidden from entering the department during a criminal complaint investigation. A second officer faced potential termination after local educators alleged he engaged in an improper relationship and inappropriate text communications with a minor. [1]

• Seguin PD Sgt Bruno Cavazos violated a state subpoena, went to DISNEYWORLD instead of testifying against me. He was not arrested. He was not charged. He was not fined or disciplined in any way.
• ( YOU CAN SHOW UP AT THE STATE OF THE CITY EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 29 AND ASK YOUR CITY COUNSEL MEMBERS AND CHIEF JASON BRADY WHY HE DIDNT IMMEDIATELY FIRE AN OFFICER WHO SLAMMED A CHILD TO THE GROUND AND CAUSED THE KID A CONCUSSION. ASK HIM WHY SGT BRUNO CAVAZOS IS ABOVE THE LAW. .
