Demand Accountability and Transparency from Merseyrail for Substandard Service
The Issue
As a regular commuter who relies on Merseyrail services to get to work, I am constantly faced with the consequences of their substandard service. The introduction of the Class 777 trains has led to daily delays, cancellations and other issues that leave passengers inconvenienced and out of pocket. I'm regularly left running late for work through no fault of my own, or end up nearly an hour late home impacting my family life.
The financial burden is also significant. Despite paying a hefty price for a regular pass on this network, I often find myself having to pay additional fares for the bus when trains are not in operation.
This is not just about me - it's about all passengers in Liverpool who rely on Merseyrail's services. We deserve better than this. We deserve a reliable service that respects our time and our wallets, and officials that accept that the current service falls well short of the standards that we expect.
We call upon Merseyrail to be held accountable for their substandard service since the introduction of Class 777 trains across their network. It's time they take responsibility and make necessary improvements and adjustments so we can all rely on them again.
