Demand Accountability and Ethical Practices from Duel.com

Demand Accountability and Ethical Practices from Duel.com
The Issue
Opening Statement
We, the undersigned, call on Duel.com to immediately address systemic issues of exclusion, exploitation, and lack of accountability that harm marginalized communities using their platform.
Who We Are
This petition is organized by The Dwarves and The Blacks, a human-rights advocacy coalition united in the fight for dignity, equality, and justice in digital spaces.
Our name reflects our coalition: We represent two communities that have faced persistent discrimination, harmful stereotypes, and exclusion—people with dwarfism and Black communities worldwide. Our organization evolved from Dwarfs United, a grassroots movement advocating for people with dwarfism. As we fought for fair representation and dignified treatment, we heard from Black community members facing similar challenges in digital spaces. We recognized that our struggles were interconnected—both communities faced harmful stereotypes, exclusionary practices, and exploitation by platforms prioritizing profit over people.
By joining forces as The Dwarves and The Blacks, we discovered strength in solidarity. Our merged organization now represents a powerful voice that platforms and corporations cannot easily ignore. Together, we amplify each other's concerns and work toward systemic change that benefits all marginalized communities.
Today, The Dwarves and The Blacks operates internationally, with supporters, partners, and advocates across multiple continents. Our grassroots origins remain central to our identity—we are powered by community voices, not corporate interests.
Why We Are Taking Action Against Duel.com
Duel.com operates as a global online gambling and crypto-casino platform, profiting from diverse user bases across multiple countries. However, mounting evidence and community reports reveal a troubling pattern of practices that disproportionately harm vulnerable and marginalized users—including members of our coalition.
This platform represents a troubling pattern in the online gambling industry: companies that operate globally and profit significantly from diverse user bases, yet fail to uphold basic ethical standards when it comes to protecting and respecting marginalized communities.
The Problems We've Documented
1. Exclusionary Culture
Duel.com has fostered an environment that marginalizes and excludes vulnerable user groups through:
- Platform features and content that perpetuate harmful stereotypes about marginalized groups, including Black individuals and people with dwarfism
- Inadequate moderation that allows discriminatory behavior to flourish in community spaces
- Lack of diverse representation in platform imagery, marketing, and leadership
- Dismissive responses to community complaints about exclusionary experiences
2. Exploitative Engagement Tactics
The platform employs predatory mechanics that particularly harm vulnerable users:
- Aggressive gamification designed to maximize engagement regardless of user wellbeing
- Insufficient responsible gambling measures and self-exclusion tools
- Targeting of economically vulnerable communities with aggressive marketing
- Lack of transparent odds and unclear terms that disadvantage users
3. Lack of Accountability
When confronted with these concerns, Duel.com has consistently failed to demonstrate genuine accountability:
- Absence of transparent policies regarding user protection and community standards
- Failure to meaningfully respond to documented community concerns and complaints
- No representation from affected communities in decision-making processes
- Resistance to independent auditing or third-party oversight
Our Demands
We call on Duel.com to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable action on the following:
1. Publish Transparent Operating Standards
- Release clear, comprehensive policies on user protection, community standards, and complaint handling procedures
- Make odds, house edges, and terms genuinely transparent and understandable in plain language
- Commit to regular public transparency reports
2. Implement Inclusive Policies and Representation
- Conduct a comprehensive review and removal of content that perpetuates harmful stereotypes about any community
- Implement genuine diversity and inclusion initiatives across all platform operations
- Actively recruit diverse leadership and establish advisory roles for affected communities
- Ensure marketing and platform imagery reflects the diversity of users
3. Establish Accountability Mechanisms
- Submit to independent oversight and regular third-party audits
- Create accessible complaint processes with guaranteed response times
- Implement meaningful consequences for policy violations
- Publish regular reports on actions taken against discriminatory behavior
4. Create Community Advisory Involvement
- Establish a community advisory board with genuine decision-making input, including representation from marginalized communities
- Consult affected communities before implementing changes that affect them
- Fund independent advocacy research on platform impacts
Why This Matters
The online gambling industry operates with minimal oversight in many jurisdictions, leaving users—particularly those from marginalized communities—vulnerable to exploitation. When platforms like Duel.com know that communities are organized, watchful, and willing to act, they are far more likely to prioritize ethical behavior.
This petition is not just about one platform. It's about establishing precedents that will push the entire online gambling and digital entertainment industry toward higher ethical standards. Every signature sends a message that users will not accept discrimination, exploitation, or corporate indifference.
For too long, people with dwarfism have been mocked, objectified, and treated as entertainment rather than human beings deserving dignity. For too long, Black communities have faced harmful stereotypes, exclusion, and targeting in digital spaces. Our coalition exists because we refuse to accept this treatment—and we know that together, our voices are stronger.
Our Mission
The Dwarves and The Blacks is dedicated to confronting discrimination, harmful narratives, and unethical practices that disproportionately affect marginalized communities in digital and commercial spaces. We advocate for:
- Human Rights: Equal treatment and dignity for all people in online entertainment and digital spaces
- Ethical Standards: Responsible practices in the gambling and crypto-casino industry
- Accountability: Transparent and responsible standards from platforms with global reach
- Coalition Building: Uniting marginalized communities for collective advocacy and mutual support
Closing Statement
We believe that digital platforms must be held to the same ethical standards we demand in physical spaces. Every person—regardless of race, physical characteristics, or background—deserves to be treated with dignity and respect online.
The digital world is not separate from our physical reality—it is an extension of it. The same rights that protect people offline must be upheld online.
By signing this petition, you join a growing international movement for digital equality and corporate accountability. You stand with Black communities and people with dwarfism in demanding that platforms treat all users with respect. Together, we can create meaningful change.
Stand with The Dwarves and The Blacks. Sign today.
