Videos posted to social media appear to show a groomer at Classy Critters Pet Resort & Spa in Mooresville hitting and aggressively handling dogs. The footage shocked the community—and rightly so.

While the business has responded by saying the employee has been fired, serious questions remain. How long did this go on? Were there previous complaints? And what safeguards are in place to prevent this from happening again?

We’re calling on Iredell County Animal Services, the Mooresville Police Department, and county officials to conduct a full and transparent investigation—not only into this incident, but into the facility’s training, oversight, and accountability practices.

This isn’t about blaming one person and moving on. It’s about protecting animals in local businesses where pet owners expect care, not cruelty.

Every dog deserves humane treatment. Every customer deserves trust. And every facility that works with animals must be held to the highest standards.
