Demand an investigation by Government of Canada re: the death of activist Karima Baloch

Le problème

Pakistani activist Karima Baloch was found dead on December 22nd, 2020 in Toronto. Toronto Police have claimed her death is "non-criminal" and no suspicious behaviour is assumed. Baloch had been receiving threats as per her friend and fellow activist Lateef Johar Baloch, who told BBC and CTV:

"Lateef Johar Baloch, a friend of Ms. Baloch, told CTV News that he had known her since 2009, that she was studying at the University of Toronto, and “the Pakistan military threatened her and her family members” and engaged in “blackmail to stop her activism and [from] naming the Pakistani military.”

He told the BBC about the continued threats made against Baloch, including a recent “warning that someone would send her a ‘Christmas gift, and ‘teach her a lesson.’”

Karima spearheaded a Baloch Youth movement group that had been banned and has been the recipient of several death threats. Many of her family members have been kidnapped or killed. She sought asylum in Canada in 2016. Please sign this petition and demand Toronto Police Services to do a THOROUGH and URGENT investigation into her death.

To the militaristic Pakistani nation-state, she was considered a terrorist.
To her community, she is considered a hero. The Baloch community has been under scrutiny and violence vis-a-vis the state because of their demands for sovereignty.

Please sign this petition to demand a thorough and immediate investigation into her death.
