Demand a social media ban on primate abuse content

Demand a social media ban on primate abuse content
The Issue
Primates are incredibly important to our ecosystem, and they hold a special place in my heart and those of many others. It is absolutely appalling to witness the extortion, torture, and abuse of these innocent creatures, especially baby macaques, who often suffer for profit and exploitation. Many of these macaques are from species that are endangered or critically close to becoming endangered. The cycle of violence begins with their mothers, who are poached so their babies can be torn from their wombs and subjected to a lifetime of cruelty and abuse.
I have personally reported nearly 200 different videos on Facebook alone, depicting extreme torture inflicted on baby monkeys, yet these horrific contents remain accessible. Social media platforms claim to oppose and prohibit animal abuse, but their inaction tells a different story. Entire hate groups thrive on the existence of these videos, perpetuating cruelty and profiting from it. The platforms' failure to remove such content directly contradicts their stated community standards and ethical guidelines.
We cannot stand idly by as these atrocities continue unchecked. It's time to hold social media companies accountable for the content they host. We demand that Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and all other social media outlets take swift and decisive action to ban any photos and videos supporting the extortion, torture, and abuse of primates.
Here are the steps they must take immediately:
1. Implement stronger content moderation tools to detect and remove abusive content more effectively.
2. Collaborate with animal welfare organizations to identify and take down harmful material.
3. Establish stricter community guidelines that clearly define and prohibit the promotion of animal abuse content.
4. Regularly audit existing content to prevent old or unnoticed harmful materials from remaining online.
By taking these steps, social media platforms can become safe environments, free from the glorification of violence and cruelty. We must protect these fragile creatures who cannot defend themselves. It is our moral duty to prevent the suffering of these primates.
Sign this petition if you support a world where social media does not tolerate the abuse and exploitation of animals. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these baby monkeys who deserve our protection and care.
