Demand a Retrial for Animal Abuse/Neglect and Theft Charges

Demand a Retrial for Animal Abuse/Neglect and Theft Charges
The Issue
Many beloved family dogs fell victim to the actions of two men from Auburn, CA. Since then, our dogs have developed different personalities, anxiety, aggression, and other struggles that affect their daily lives. During the course of the investigation, numerous victims were identified, and multiple victims/owners testified in court. This is not just an isolated incident; it's a reflection of a broader issue that needs immediate attention.
In Placer County, CA, where we live, our case is not unique. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), nearly 10 million dogs are abused or killed each year across U.S. These figures are alarming and highlight an urgent need for justice.
These two Auburn area men were recently tried on charges of animal abuse and theft but, due to a hung jury mistrial, they escaped conviction. We believe this outcome does not reflect justice being served. The judge in the case is currently deciding if he will allow a retrial or if he will dismiss the case. We are concerned they will continue with their inhumane ways if they are not re-tried.
We urge you to support our call for a re-trial so that these individuals can be held accountable for their actions. It's time we take animal cruelty seriously as it often reflects deeper societal issues.
Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for all creatures - big or small - because every life matters!
