This petition, born out of desperation and fear, was started by an insulin dependent individual for whom the risk of unaffordable insulin is a very real life-or-death issue. If job loss occurs, the prohibitive cost of insulin could result in fatal consequences.

Sadly, this is not just one person's reality. It's the reality for many Americans. Currently in the US, the monthly cost of insulin for an individual can be upwards of $450, even with insurance. This cost is simply too high for something so crucial for survival. In fact, it’s estimated that 1 in 4 individuals with diabetes resort to insulin rationing due to these high costs, leading to health complications and fatality.

It's time to put a stop to this, to prevent more preventable deaths and reduce the financial burden on those who need insulin to live. Having an affordable price for insulin is a right, not a privilege.
