Demand a new investigator to lead the inquiry into Greyhound Racing SA

Demand a new investigator to lead the inquiry into Greyhound Racing SA

The issue

Recent footage has emerged of greyhounds at a prominent South Australian racing property being kicked, punched and rammed with motorcycles.

This horrific footage, along with recent evidence of live baiting within Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) lead the South Australian Premier to call an independent inquiry into GRSA.

Greyhound Welfare Initiative, along with many South Australians welcomed this independent inquiry with open arms, finally a win for South Australian greyhounds. Unfortunately, this is not the case. This week it was announced that Mr Graham Ashton will lead the ‘independent’ inquiry.

Mr Ashton has significant personal and family connections to GRSA, the very industry he is to be investigating.
Mr Ashton’s Father is a life member of Adelaide Greyhound Racing Club with South Australian greyhound races named after him.

How can there be any justice for South Australian greyhounds when systemic bias has already tainted this ‘independent’ inquiry.

Please sign this petition demanding Premier Peter Malinauskas and Racing Minister Katrine Hildyard introduce a new lead investigator into the inquiry of GRSA.

The South Australian greyhounds and tax payers deserve an inquiry led by a figure independent from the the racing industry.

Independent should mean independent
