In the United Kingdom, tens of thousands of girls as young as five-years-of-age are being raped by gangs of Pakistani men. They are "groomed" before they are exploited, drugged, molested, and gang raped. If they resist or try to run away, they and their families are threaten with torture and death.

The vast majority of the victims are white girls whilst the vast majority of perpetuators are Pakistani-Muslim men. This racial element has caused the ritual abuse of these girls to be ignored and covered-up by those charged with their protection –– the Police, child welfare services, and political authorities. 

This has been going on for decades and, tonight, the Labour Government voted AGAINST launching an investigation into this historic abuse of our nation's children. 

We demand the UK Government launch a nationwide statutory inquiry into the causes, scope, & ongoing cover-up of this sexual abuse inflicted upon children by 'grooming gangs' & that those who have been complicit in this barbarity are held to account.

The inquiry should be conducted by independent arbiters, & the timeframe that is examined should span several decades.

In order for the appropriate measures to be put in place to prevent further atrocities against girls in this country, there must be a complete, detailed, & unambiguous understanding of what caused this to happen, & how this horror has been perpetuated.

As long as the government fails to confront the problem, more and more girls will have their lives devastated by a childhood of horrific sexual violence.
