Demand a Grand Jury Review of Ryan Hinton’s Fatal Shooting by Ohio Police

Demand a Grand Jury Review of Ryan Hinton’s Fatal Shooting by Ohio Police
The Issue
We demand justice and transparency in the fatal police shooting of 18-year-old Ryan Hinton in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich has declined to bring charges or even present the case to a grand jury, denying the public a vital layer of accountability.
Ryan was a teenager, shot and killed by police under circumstances that remain murky. While body camera footage shows a chaotic scene, it does not clearly prove Ryan posed a direct threat. Prosecutors should not make that call alone — a grand jury of ordinary citizens should have the opportunity to examine the evidence, ask questions, and decide whether charges are warranted.
No life should be dismissed without a full and fair process. The Hinton family, and the public, deserve better.
We call on Prosecutor Pillich to present the evidence to a grand jury and allow the people of Hamilton County to weigh in.
Let justice be transparent. Let justice be public. Let the people decide.
