Demand a federal review of Bolsonaro brothers' immigration status
The Issue
Demand a Federal Review of Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro’s Activities and Immigration Status
The United States prides itself on being a nation governed by the rule of law, where political influence and family connections should never place anyone above accountability.
Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro, sons of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, have been associated with serious legal controversies in Brazil, raising legitimate questions about accountability, democratic institutions, and the potential implications of their activities in the United States.
Flávio Bolsonaro has faced investigations involving allegations of corruption, misuse of public funds, and money laundering. Although earlier proceedings were dismissed following judicial decisions invalidating evidence, the allegations and subsequent legal scrutiny remain matters of public interest.
Eduardo Bolsonaro was convicted by Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court of coercion in judicial proceedings related to efforts to pressure Brazilian authorities during the prosecution of his father for an attempted coup. His activities involving American political officials and sanctions against Brazil have also raised questions about foreign political influence and respect for democratic institutions.
These circumstances warrant careful consideration by the appropriate authorities, based on verified evidence and applicable U.S. law.
We call for the following actions:
1. Federal Review and Transparency
We request that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice examine any credible evidence relevant to Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro’s activities and immigration compliance in the United States.
2. Investigation of Potential Legal Violations
Where credible evidence establishes grounds for investigation, federal authorities should determine whether any activities violate applicable American laws, including relevant immigration provisions.
3. Accountability and Immigration Enforcement
If legally sufficient evidence establishes immigration violations or other grounds for removal, the appropriate authorities should consider lawful enforcement measures, including removal proceedings where authorized, while respecting due process.
4. Protection of Democratic Institutions
The United States should ensure that its territory and institutions are not unlawfully used to facilitate interference with foreign judicial proceedings or efforts to undermine democratic institutions.
This petition is not about political affiliation. It is about the consistent application of the law, institutional accountability, and respect for democratic principles.
The law must never become a weapon in the hands of those entrusted with enforcing it.
We ask the appropriate federal authorities to examine these concerns impartially and take any action justified by the evidence and the law.
