I have been an avid basketball fan for as long as I can remember. The love for the game, the thrill of competition, and the spirit of sportsmanship are what keep me hooked. However, recent events have led me to question the integrity and competence of NCAA Basketball referees.

It is no secret that refereeing in any sport is a challenging task, but it seems that NCAA Basketball referees have been underperforming consistently. Their decisions have often been questionable and controversial, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among fans like myself.

According to ESPN's analysis in 2019, there has been an alarming increase in incorrect calls during crucial moments of games (ESPN). This not only disrupts the flow of matches but also undermines fair play and sportsmanship - values that are at the core of any sport.

I feel that the 2024 NCAA Tournament in particular has been the reason that I have chosen to draft this petition.

We need accountability from those who hold such significant roles within our beloved sport. We demand a comprehensive review into their performance with transparent results made available to public scrutiny. It's time we restore faith in our game by ensuring those officiating it are upholding its values with utmost integrity.
