The USA has failed to protect the proposal by 32 African countries to keep African elephants in their range states.  The USA has voted instead to allow the continued export of baby elephants to zoos in China and away from Africa. 

Does the USA intend stocking its own zoos with baby elephants separated in the wild from their families?
