American hunters are now allowed to import elephant trophies that they hunted in Zimbabwe and Zambia back into the USA. The Fish and Wildlife Service, which is a sub-branch within the US Department of Interior believes that legal, well-regulated sport hunting will benefit the conservation. This decision has been reached despite the well documented fact that the elephant population has decreased drastically as a result of hunting and poaching. Trump has made this decision even though both Zimbabwe and Zambia have failed to demonstrate that elephant hunting in their respective countries has ever benifited local conservation. Zimbabwe remains among the world's most corrupt countries, according to results of a survey by global watchdog Transparency International. The Zimbabwean anti-corruption commission has never resolved a single case of corruption.
