Along with the petition, I tweet the decision-makers weekly.    My most recent tweet: @Potus The 2021 Health Care Index ranked Spain 8th out of 89 countries in healthcare. In Europe, it’s placed fourth.  U.S. ranked at #30.  99% of Spanish are covered, in US over 10 percent have no coverage and 43% of adults are underinsured.  We demand #M4A.  https://www.change.org/HealthcareForEverybody

Every time the petition has an update, more ways to push the narrative and push forward will be added.  These suggested actions will be graduated forms of leverage designed to produce increasing pressure on members of Congress and the president to ACT!  Suggested actions for the next 3 weeks include: 

• Call your Senators & Reps to demand they co-sponsor the #MedicareForAll Act of 2023
• Watch  or try to schedule a screening of the #HealingUS movie premiering May 19 in Tacoma, contact at healingUSnetwork.

• Call your representatives and tell them that you support Medicare for All.
• Donate to organizations that are working to make Medicare for All a reality.
• Contact local media outlets and ask them to cover the petition

• Reach out to local politicians and ask them to support your petition.
• Donate to organizations that are working to achieve Universal Healthcare.
• Join online message boards on Reddit related to your topic or location and share
• Link to the petition in the comment section of related news articles
• Message influencers directly and ask them to repost

Additionally don’t buy into the “futility of action” narratives you may encounter on social media.  Treat them as if they have been designed by opposition forces!

It looks like currently about 11.6% of people who have viewed the petition have decided to sign!  That is up from around 8% who were signing earlier in the process.  That is encouraging because it signifies that some of the initial misgivings that were being expressed, I.e., what good is a petition going to do are lifting.  The right to petition the government is a powerful tool that we can use to make our voices heard. If we want to see Medicare for All become a reality, we need to use this right and make our voices heard.  

Think about this:  if everyone who has signed the petition convinced one more person to sign, we would smash the next intermediate goal of 5K signatures by tomorrow!  But I know that most of you are more competitive and more committed than finding just one more……Let’s see how far out of the park you can smash this!
