The Mechanical and Electrical Canteen were our favorite hang out spots. Although the infrastructure remains (not in case of Elec C ), the building has been handed over to new people. We wouldn't have minded the tender being given to new people, had it not been for the following cases:

Ø  Electrical Canteen has been scrapped wholly. It was really important for people who needed to grab a quick lunch/ breakfast in between classes.
Ø  In Mechanical Canteen, food is more expensive than it was previously.
Ø  Being expensive, the food isn't even tasty.
Ø  A lot of students have been found to complain of food poisoning after eating the stuff the new Mechanical Canteen serves.
Ø  Because of poor quality/ extremely oily food, a lot of students don’t eat in Mech C at all, leaving the option of more expensive but hygienic food at Nescafe or Night canteen which is far from the main campus.
Ø  Both of above mentioned factors restricts a lot of students from having a decent meal in college at all.
Ø  Number of available menu items which were available in the old Mech C has been reduced drastically.
Ø  It takes a lot of time to buy a simple meal and the process has been unnecessarily increased by adding a separate payment counter. Meaning, you waste around whole of your lunch hour just waiting for the lunch.
Ø  A lot of executives who visit the campus ask for the famous bread pakora or samosas which aren't the same now.
Ø  In short, Mechanical Canteen has lost its essence and the cheap & tasty food which it was earlier known for.

Considering, the purpose of a canteen is to serve the students and not to just make money, we would  request the administration to renew the tender of Mr. Morris and his team who were taking care of the Mech C and Elec C with admirable devotion and love.
