The Belleville Board of Education is attempting to change the school uniform policy just two weeks before the start of the school year. Parents believe this is far too short of notice to make such a significant change.

The district has since stated that the new policy could go into effect on January 1, 2026, but we, the parents, still believe this does not allow adequate time. Many families have already purchased uniforms for the entire school year, and a mid-year change would cause unnecessary financial and logistical stress.

We are not opposed to updating the uniform policy, but we believe families deserve more time to prepare. Making such changes on short notice creates unnecessary burden.

We respectfully request that any new uniform policy be implemented beginning September 2026, giving families the fair notice they need.
