Defund Planned Parenthood.

Defund Planned Parenthood.
The Issue
The most vulnerable members of our society, the unborn children, are directly impacted by Planned Parenthood's operations, with over 374,155 abortions performed in 2020 alone. Women, who are constantly seeking comprehensive healthcare services, are affected as Planned Parenthood's focus on abortion detracts from other vital services, such Crisis Pregnancy centers, FQHCs, RHCs, and heartbeat international. As more Communities are deprived of the holistic care they deserve and taxpayers are forced to subsidize an organization that prioritizes abortion over full-spectrum health services. Women who might benefit from extensive prenatal care and other health services are instead often funneled into choosing abortion due to the organization's primary emphasis. Life begins in the womb, it’s scientifically proven that life begins at fertilization. Just because a baby is not conscious, doesn’t make it unworthy. Are those with alzheimer’s unworthy of life because they aren’t fully conscious? Are those disabled unworthy of life because they can’t survive on their own?
If Planned Parenthood continues to receive government funding, the number of abortions will remain alarmingly high, perpetuating the cycle of terminating innocent lives. This financial support could be redirected to over 13,000 federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics that provide comprehensive, ethical care without offering abortion services. A change in funding priorities could significantly make access to a broader range of healthcare services for women, promoting life and health rather than focusing predominantly on abortion. Continuing the status quo means funding an organization criticized for prioritizing abortion numbers over women's health.
Immediate action is crucial because the number of abortions remains high, and taxpayer dollars are still being funneled into an organization that prioritizes these procedures. Former insiders like Abby Johnson have highlighted the organization's problematic focus, providing a critical momentum for change. Redirecting funds now can immediately bolster community health resources, ensuring that women receive comprehensive care and that ethical standards in healthcare are upheld. Acting now can save countless lives and provide better healthcare options for women nationwide.
