Let these military pets come home!

Let these military pets come home!

The Issue

#Dontleaveusbehind

15 incredibly loved family pets, belonging to families serving with the British Army, currently posted overseas in Kenya at BATUK are facing losing their families, AGAIN.

Last year, in the height of the pandemic they were left behind when their families were evacuated out of kenya and they weren't allowed to go with them. Some of them apart for 6 months, stuck in local Kennels. Now, thanks to the ongoing effects of covid and Kenya being on the 'red list' once again their families are looking at having to leave them behind.

Desperate not to be separated again these families have managed to organise with the RAF, clearing agents in Nairobi/UK and a qualified local veterinarian for these animals to be flown back to the UK.

BUT there is one piece missing. The animals must have their paperwork seen and stamped by DEFRA on arrival in the UK. And DEFRA have said no. No they will not send an agent to meet this flight and see this paperwork. The families even offered to pay for the service, still no. Why?.... Because the flight lands at 'unsociable hours'.

DEFRA have been providing this service for other British training units, such as Cyprus and Brunei but won't do it for those here in Kenya.

These beautiful family pets are 4127 miles away from home, with no guarantee of how they will be looked after or if they will be safe. All because a government agency can't be bothered to supply a staff member....

Please sign to make all the senior figures relating to this department get involved and help bring these military pets home with their families!
