The Conservancy in DeForest is a treasure that has been traditionally designated for nature conservancy.   It is one of the few areas of limited human impact and nature that we have left in this community and it needs to be protected formally as a nature conservancy.   If we as a village agree to allow a mountain bike trail in this location, that treasure will be gone forever.  
All bikes and any wheeled transit needs to remain on the paved bike path.  The woods, and any non paved area would be left to pedestrian foot traffic only, including snow shoeing in winter.   No motorized vehicles of any kind allowed, save those for mobility purposes, for those less physically able to walk or ride bikes, and for emergency and maintenance vehicles only.
