Today we had a meeting with Dr. Merilee Fullerton, the MPP for Kanata-Carleton and Minister of Children, Community and Social Development. Thank you all for continuing to support the cause, we have passed along your signatures and comments to the Minister.

Minister Fullerton listened to us with intent and agreed to each point. They say that previous Ontario governments had not done any investments in healthcare. The current Ontario government has increased spending and is investing to have more doctors, PSWs and nurses but this will take time.

We requested that the government define standards for each healthcare service like creating benchmarks. One can achieve targets only if standards are established. We understood from the minister that the Premier also talks of standards so healthcare can be measured.

But there is no commitment to create standards yet and that’s what we want to hear from the Ontario government.
