The Issue

To the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Pleasantville:

We, Amanda Chandler and Erin Fleming and the undersigned residents of the Village of Pleasantville, respectfully petition the Village Board of Trustees to defer final consideration and any vote on the proposed zoning amendment associated with the development of 1 & 3 Campus Drive and 8 Carey Court until after the 2026 Village election and the seating of the Trustees elected in that election.

The proposed rezoning represents a significant and lasting land-use decision for Pleasantville. It has generated substantial public participation and discussion concerning development, traffic, infrastructure, schools, environmental considerations, municipal services, and the future character of the Village.

With a Village election approaching and two seats on the five-member Board reaching the end of their current terms in 2026, we believe the public interest would be served by allowing the electoral process to occur before the Village takes final legislative action on this consequential rezoning request.

This petition does not ask the Board to prejudge the merits of the application. It asks only that final legislative action be deferred so that Pleasantville voters may participate in the upcoming election before an irreversible zoning decision is made.

We affirm that we are residents of the Village of Pleasantville and that entering my name below constitutes my signature in support of this petition.
