Petition for Animal Cruelty

We, as a student, freely write this petition to guarantee the safety of every animals in the Philippines that are being abandoned by choice, and to voice out the inhumanely treatments and abuse of people to animals.

These past few months, The Philippines is currently experiencing intense tropical storms, heavy rainfall, and flooding particularly due to the effects of the past Typhoon Kristine. Because of this natural disaster, people often leave their pets behind due to the limited resources, lack of preparedness and lack of responsibility as an owner.

As a concerned student, We’d established a petition to voice out the cruelty against animals in the Philippines. The “No Animals Left Behind” aims to ensure the protection of animals especially in light of recent severe weather events. Our campaign advocates pet friendly policies during calamities that emphasizes the importance of preparedness, resources, sheltering and care for our beloved pets. We console everyone not just pet owners to sign this petition! Let’s us pursue and recognize animal rights.

 

 

Issue:

Recently, natural disasters like storms and flooding in the Philippines, have forced many people to evacuate their homes quickly to protect themselves and their families. However, in these stressful situations, pets, farm animals, or wildlife are often left behind, which puts them in serious and life threatening danger—animals may drown, injure and starve. This shows the urgent need for disaster plans that include animals, Proper evacuation and care for animals can prevent unnecessary suffering and save lives.

 

 

Request for Action:

• Raise Public Awareness: Educate communities about the importance of preparation. Held an orientation about the duties and responsibilities as an animal owner.
• Animal Shelters: Provide health care and shelter to all abandoned pets and stray animals.
• Include Animals in Disaster Plans: Supports animal-friendly emergency preparedness policies.
